GdS: New stadium project stalls again as Milan and Inter consider a different site

Just as it seems as though the new stadium project is on the right track, something comes along to disrupt the process and further delays are now envisaged.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), the project for the new stadium at San Siro has stalled again and now Milan and Inter are looking around at potential new locations without as much red tape as they are currently encountering.

The bureaucracy is slowing things too much and while  the two clubs have said they are willing to have the debate necessary by law, they are not willing to spend millions more on new feasibility studies without guarantees that it will go ahead.

The most likely area if they did decide to move away is the Sesto San Giovanni area where the Falck steel works stood but there is nothing to suggest there have been direct contacts between the clubs and the mayor of the area, but in the coming months the situation could change.

The Rossoneri and the Nerazzurri are willing to accept other compromises because they wish to remain in the historic San siro area, but they won’t wait much longer and will not agree to new expenses without knowing there will be something to show at the end.
