MN: Newcastle very aggressive in Botman pursuit as Milan begin lining up alternative

AC Milan have once again been left to decide between signing Sven Botman or Gleison Bremer for the centre-back department after the dilemma first emerged in January.

MilanNews reports that Botman has virtually always been the favoured target as Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have been following him for months, they have already met his entourage several times and they even agreed terms with him.

Milan are trying to convince Lille with an offer of €30m but Newcastle United are being ‘very aggressive’ in their pursuit, with the report citing Sky’s update that the Magpies have an offer of €50-55m ready.

Lille will have to sell the player by June 30 and therefore it is assumed that, in the next few days, either Lille or Botman will have to take a step back. If the Dutchman eventually yields to the French club’s willingness to sell to the Premier League, Milan will not be caught unprepared and are following Bremer again.

He should leave Torino for €25m as Urbano Cairo does not want to have any disagreements with the player having agreed he can leave this summer, while the player would approve of the idea of joining Milan.
