Pellegatti analyses versatile midfielder with Milan interested: “He can play in two midfields”

The summer mercato is quickly approaching, and evaluations are beginning to take place regarding where AC Milan may look at reinforcing and who they may select to fill those roles. Today, Carlo Pellegatti has analysed an option the Rossoneri may look at.

Regarding Milan’s summer recruitment, the focus will be on a new striker and central defender. However, as was the case in the January mercato, the Rossoneri will evaluate their options and potentially act on interesting opportunities that present themselves.

Whilst a new midfielder does not top the list of necessities if the opportunity presented itself to bolster their midfield, then the Diavolo may take it, and one of the midfielders they are believed to be looking at is Udinese’s Walace.

On his YouTube channel, Pellegatti analysed the prospect of Milan signing Walace, and his words have been relayed by MilanNews.

“They tell me that AC Milan could have the idea of taking a player, who I have analysed, who has very, very interesting statistics. I’m talking about a player who is 1.88 tall, who weighs 75kg, from 2019 in Udinese and knows the Italian league well. The cost is sustainable, 7, 10, and 12 million euros, he was born on 4 April 1995, so he is 29 years old in a fortnight. His name is Walace.

“He can play in a midfield two, but also in the three, alongside Reijnders and also alongside Bennacer. The statistics: 82% successful passes, 84.6% successful dribbling, out of 215 duels, he has won 126. He would be ideal to give that physicality.

“In the second season he is second in duels won, this year he scored two goals, he’s not one for offensive input, but he would be ideal to give physicality. I hope it’s an idea and a path that Milan can take.”

If the Rossoneri are looking for reinforcements to bolster their midfield, then he could be a very shrewd signing, given his versatility and different traits to the rest of the midfielders at the club.
