Pellegatti suggests Milan could move for Leeds United star if Leao were to leave

AC Milan could look into signing Luis Sinisterra from Leeds United should they lose Rafael Leao, according to journalist Carlo Pellegatti.

According to Pellegatti – who spoke to Numero Diaz (via TEAMtalk) and often has the inside track on targets – the Colombian winger is a player than Milan could look to if they were to lose Rafael Leao at some point in the coming transfer windows.

Leao was strongly linked with Chelsea during the summer transfer window and while he ended up remaining at the club there are worries about whether he will renew his contract which expires in June 2024, meaning a sale could become topical again.

Pellegatti said on Milan’s interest in Sinisterra: “If unfortunately, and let’s hope not, Leao had to leave, a player I would like and who looks a lot like him is Sinisterra, today at Leeds.”

Leeds signed Sinisterra in the summer and penned a contract until 2027 after Raphinha had left for big money. However, the Rossoneri could well be in line to net a huge sum if Leao did leave and could potentially meet the asking price of the Premier League club.

As the Charles De Ketelaere saga over the summer proved, the ability to play for a historic club that will likely compete for trophies in the years to come and play in the Champions League is a very big draw.
