Samuel Chukwueze was one of the best players in AC Milan’s 2-2 draw against Celtic yesterday. As a result, he could end up staying at the club.

It has been said several times that the pre-season will be a chance for Ruben Amorim to evaluate the players at his disposal, even the ones linked with exits. Chukwueze is one of them as he spent last season on loan at Fulham, with a permanent move there even looking likely at one point.

Yesterday, the Nigerian winger came off the bench for the second half against Celtic, and he impressed massively. Not only did he get a lovely outside-of-the-boot assist for Francesco Camarda, but he also created a lot on the right flank.

Evaluations are ongoing

In his latest YouTube video, Fabrizio Romano provided an update on Chukwueze and his future with Milan. He stated that the Rossoneri are continuing to evaluate him, and in that sense, the performance against Celtic was a massive step in the right direction.

“Some things became clear in the Celtic friendly. The first is how Amorim wanted to show his faith in Chukwueze, and his performance was very good. In short, when a manager believes in a player, it shows, and Chukwueze has understood that this is an opportunity.

“He will try to rekindle his experience with the Rossoneri. At the moment, Milan are continuing to give Chukwueze time, despite his agents having received calls in recent weeks. They want to let him work with Amorim, so this is the stance today,” he stated.
