According to the latest from MilanNews, it is ‘no mystery’ that Pioli likes Berardi and he would have happily welcomed him at Milan last summer when the club ended up signing Junior Messias on a deadline day loan with option to buy deal.

That interest persists ahead of the 2022 summer transfer window but Sassuolo’s demands for the 27-year-old are at the moment considered far too high. If the Neroverdi were to review their requests, Milan would then make some evaluations about whether it is worth going for Berardi more concretely.

Berardi has 119 goals for Sassuolo plus 81 assists in 319 games for the club which shows that he would be an upgrade on the right side in terms of end product, given he also has 14 goals in the current Serie A campaign alone.
