GdS: Pioli plans to watch Primavera full-back closely while in Dubai

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli is planning to watch Adam Bakoune closely having opted to take the Primavera defender to Dubai for the training camp.

La Gazzetta dello Sport report that Morocco’s emergence at the World Cup also seems to have inspired Milan, and not because of Hakim Ziyech. Adam Bakoune – a right-back of Moroccan origins born in Italy sixteen years ago – has gone to Dubai for the training camp along with Primavera team-mates Alesi, Bozzolan, El Hilali, Jungdal and Simic.

He has 17 appearances and two assists in the current campaign for Ignazio Abate and is one of the first names on the team sheet. He also boasts a couple of appearances for the Italy U18 national team, while he started the friendly against Lumezzane last week when Eletu and Alesi – his team-mates in the Primavera – each scored.

The report mentions how Bakoune has a similar style to Theo Hernandez as he gets his head down and prefers to run with the ball towards the goal rather than stay back. This year he got assists against Cesena and Roma, while last year he lost the U16 Scudetto final against the Giallorossi.

His coach then was Abate who has always been an admirer of the teenager, so much so that only captain Coubis has played more than him, 1080 minutes against 967. Now, Pioli will evaluate him closely in Dubai.
