AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli is hoping to increase the tactical fluidity that his team have and the mercato has been centred around that, a report claims.
MilanNews recalls how since his arrival at Milan, Pioli has used a 4-3-3 system, a 4-4-2, a 4-2-3-1 and then even evolving into a 4-1-4-1 during some matches towards the end of last season, which shows he is always willing to adapt to get the most out of his squad.
After the arrivals of Charles De Ketelaere and Yacine Adli this summer, there may be new and interesting tactical alterations that will lead Milan to be even less predictable. For example, the versatility of the duo (the Belgian can play as a No.10 or on the right, while the Frenchman can play as a playmaker or a box-to-box player) could allow a switch between the 4-2-3-1 and a 4-3-3.
Divock Origi will also be key in the fluidity given he is no strange to playing out on the wing, but he must first return from fitness. Essentially, the aim was to recruit players capable of exchanging roles, duties and positions to make life difficult for the opposition.
