Pellegatti: Why it is ‘difficult’ and ‘unlikely’ for Renato Sanches to join Milan

It will be difficult for AC Milan to sign Renato Sanches because of the level of player that he has become, according to journalist Carlo Pellegatti.

Speaking on his YouTube channel (via MilanNews), Pellegatti remarked how he was ‘thrilled’ by the ‘quality’ of the Portugal international during last night’s Champions League round of 16 first leg clash between Chelsea and Lille at Stamford Bridge, where he stood out among the best.

The journalist states that he could be a player for the double pivot but also may fit at Milan as a ‘number 10’ but despite the recent reports suggesting that a deal is close to being wrapped up with Lille, Pellegatti believes the signing is ‘difficult’ and ‘unlikely’ because ‘he is a top-tier player from the point of view of quality, but his character qualities must be evaluated’.

He goes on to suggest that the Rossoneri ‘need mature players who know how to manage the pressure of the club and the distractions of the city’ and ‘the fact that he left Bayern early suggests that there is something that escapes us’.

“Milan are looking around to replace Kessie, hard work is being done on the whole European front. It is not possible to make a mistake,” he concluded.
