Romano: Milan add Palmeiras full-back to list of targets but for the summer

AC Milan have added another player to their list of potential summer targets with Palmeiras full-back Vanderlan having caught their eye, a report claims.

Of course the focus over the coming days and weeks will be about potential signings that arrive during the January mercato to strengthen the squad, but the management will also be making calls ahead of the summer too.

On that theme, Fabrizio Romano states that Milan have added Palmeiras defender Vanderlan Barbosa da Silva – simply known as Vanderlan – to their list of targets.

He is down as ‘one of the players they appreciate for the summer’ as per the journalist, and there is a reason for that: the Rossoneri are unlikely to have a spare EU spot in January as they want to sign Matija Popović.

There is competition to deal with though, because Galatasaray and Rennes want to bid for Vanderlan now, which means they are planning a move six months in advance of Milan.

The 21-year-old left-back – who can also play centre-back too – has made 32 league appearances for the Brazilian club amassing one goal and three assists.

Speaking of moves lined up for the summer, Di Marzio reported earlier today that Milan and Fiorentina are both interested in signing Nehuen Perez this summer from Udinese and have asked for information.
