AC Milan’s deal to sign André from Corinthians risks falling through because there is no intention to raise the offer.

The André soap opera has dragged on over the past few days now, after news broke that Milan had agreed a €17m deal for the midfielder. The Corinthians’ president is trying to block things at the last minute, reportedly because of backlash from fans, and he is now asking for more money.
Corriere dello Sport reported earlier in the week that the Rossoneri management might end up walking away from the negotiations. There was also talk of legal action involving FIFA, given that the club believe the required documents were signed.
‘There’s an ultimatum’
On his YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano discussed the negotiations for André and he confirmed that unless things change in the next few days, he might not arrive. MilanNews relayed his words.
“It will be an important week. From what I understand, they won’t negotiate the André issue until the summer, until June or July. The André issue must be resolved now because Milan believes it has done its part in this situation,” he said.
“Milan had an agreement not only with the player but also with Corinthians. Milan thought it had everything covered for André. Milan also had documents signed by Corinthians’ executives, who, according to the Brazilian club, have no decision-making or signing authority to close a deal.
“This is where the issue got stuck. Milan believed they had signed André for a figure just under €15 million, but with bonuses to bring it up to €17 million. Then the media hype in Brazil, the exposure of the coach and the president, made Corinthias push for a higher price.
“Milan says they’ve already signed, we already have an agreement, Corinthians says this agreement hasn’t been signed. The president, who is the only person who can formalize the deal, clearly didn’t like it.
“There’s an ultimatum in the next few days: either the deal goes through as Milan wants, or it risks falling through.”
