Sky Germany: Milan have bid rejected for talented Freiburg youngster

AC Milan have submitted a bid for Freiburg youngster Bruno Ogbus which was subsequently rejected by the Bundesliga side.

As reported by Sky Germany correspondent Florian Plettenberg on X, the Rossoneri are trying to bolster the number of talented young players at the club and Ogbus has taken their fancy.

The bid for the defender was reportedly in the ‘low single-digit range’ of the millions but Freiburg have rejected it because they think that he has a role to play in the first team next season.

The 18-year-old, as far as Freiburg is concerned, is not for sale. That means that unless Ogbus himself shows a serious desire to move to Milan, then a deal will be hard to do without bidding a lot more than he is really worth.

The Swiss defender joined Freiburg’s youth setup from FC Zurich in 2022 and has since been impressing for the U17s and the U19s in Germany. If he were to join Milan, he would be a candidate for the Milan Futuro team.

He is yet to make an appearance for the Freiburg first team but the expectation is that that will change in the coming months.

It is not yet clear whether Milan will come back in with an improved offer for Ogbus or not but Freiburg seem strong in their position.
