SM: Probable Milan XI to face Bologna – rests for Tonali and Leao

With three days left until AC Milan resume their fight for the title against Bologna, some team news has emerged from training at Milanello today.

It was reported by Sky earlier today that Ante Rebic could be in line for a start over Rafael Leao on the left wing as he is now back to full fitness having not been called up by Croatia, with Leao perhaps getting the chance to rest having been away with Portugal.

According to the information from our colleagues at SempreMilan.it, the latest clues suggest that Mike Maignan should start in goal with a back four of Davide Calabria, Pierre Kalulu, Fikayo Tomori and Theo Hernandez ahead of him.

The double pivot should consist of Franck Kessie and Ismael Bennacer with Sandro Tonali getting a rest having started for Italy against Turkey. That also means Brahim Diaz will be the playmaker.

Completing the attack, Alexis Saelemaekers should be on the right wing with Ante Rebic on the left side, and Olivier Giroud up front after scoring in both games for France over the break.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Kalulu, Tomori, Theo Hernandez; Kessie, Bennacer; Saelemaekers, Brahim Diaz, Rebic; Giroud.
