Study shows Milan rank behind only Man City, Man Utd and PSG with huge net spend

In recent years, Milan have made many mistakes on the transfer market. Signing players for significant amounts, only to sell them for less later. Therefore, the Rossoneri’s net spend is far from good.

As compiled by Football365.com, using numbers from Transfermarkt, Milan’s net spend (transfer fees minus money collected from sales) is huge compared to the top European clubs in the last five years. In fact, they rank in fourth place.

Manchester City are in first place with a staggering €684m, while their city rivals United are at €552m. Then we have Paris Saint-Germain at €420m and Milan at €398m, followed by Barcelona (€363m), Inter (€318m), Arsenal (€305m) and Juventus (€295m).

Of course, if it wasn’t obvious already, this shows that Milan have made many poor choices on the transfer market. The constant management changes haven’t helped either and we can only hope that the revolution this summer will be the last in a while.
