Report: Milan to open talks with Norwich over €18m centre-back

Another surprise name, following the promotion of Geoffrey Moncada, as emerged on AC Milan’s wish list: Andrew Omobamidele. In fact, the Rossoneri are ready to open talks over the centre-back, a report claims.

Milan have been linked with a plethora of players over the last few weeks or so, given the change in management. Chief Scout Geoffrey Moncada is now in charge of the show and as a result, the Rossoneri are being linked to lesser-known players.

According to TeamTalk, Moncada is a big fan of Norwich centre-back Andrew Omobamidele and Milan are likely to open talks with the English side. At the age of 20, he has a price tag of at least €18m.

The Irish international featured in 34 league games this past season, starting 27 of them and scoring one goal in the process. It sounds like the type of player Moncada would have on his wish list, but Milan have a rather complete defence and their priority isn’t that department this summer.

The likes of Pierre Kalulu, Malick Thiaw, Fikayo Tokori and Simon Kjaer are certainly enough for the centre-back positions heading into next season.
