The Athletic: Milan ask Chelsea for £26.7m option as part of loan deal for centre-back

Further confirmations have arrived claiming that AC Milan and Chelsea are in advanced talks over a deal for Fikayo Tomori.

According to The Athletic, Tomori is looking to leave Stamford Bridge in order to get regular minutes and Milan are now the favourites to land him having contacted Chelsea about a loan deal earlier this week.

The report adds that Milan have asked Chelsea for an option to buy as part of the deal which would be set at £26.7m (€30m), so the club have an option to keep him if he really impresses.

Tomori is also wanted by Newcastle and Rennes, with coach Frank Lampard confirming at the weekend that the 23-year-old is still part of his plans but will be allowed to depart on loan this month.

The 22-year-old England international has played just 45 minutes in the Premier League this season, having seemingly fallen out of favour.
