TMW: Milan consider shock return for former midfielder

AC Milan are contemplating bringing Aster Vranckx back to the club despite his disappointing loan spell with the Rossoneri during the 2022/23 season, a report claims.

As has been reported by TMW (via Milan News), Vranckx has become a starter in the midfield at Wolfsburg again this season after he returned to the club in the summer. He was loaned to Milan with an option to buy but Milan chose not to exercise that option.

The Belgian made nine appearances in Serie A for Milan but they only totalled 235 minutes. It would have taken €12m for Milan to buy him and it was very clear that it would not happen.

He is looking back to his best with Wolfsburg and in January, it will be 18 months till the end of his contract. He could be signed for €8-10m, but it will depend on the will of Wolfsburg.

Vranckx almost joined Fiorentina in the summer once Milan had sent him back to Wolfsburg.
