AC Milan’s fears were confirmed by this afternoon’s scan as Fikayo Tomori will have to undergo an operation on his knee, meaning he will be out for a chunk of important games.

MilanNews reports that it is always better not to make too many predictions about recovery times given it can vary from injury to injury, but Tomori – who will be undergoing arthroscopic surgery this afternoon for a lesion of the medial meniscus in his left knee – should be around a month.
There is actually a precedent that points to this too, given that Alessandro Florenzi also had the same surgery on a meniscal problem in his knee and ended up missing 35 days in total, which equated to seven games.
Therefore, Tomori is certain to miss the matches against Spezia (January 17), Juventus (January 23) and Inter (February 6) at San Siro, plus the Coppa Italia quarter-final against Lazio or Udinese (February 9) while will be at home.
His return to the field could therefore take place either against Sampdoria at San Siro on 13 February or against Salernitana away on 20 February.
