Tuttosport: €20m offer, defender targeted – Atletico Madrid aim to disrupt Milan’s mercato

The Alvaro Morata affair has caused quite a stir, especially in Spain where Atletico Madrid have told the media that they were surprised about how the striker and AC Milan handled the affair.

Milan’s version of events is different, but Tuttosport (via MilanNews) report that Milan and Atletico Madrid’s paths could cross again very soon because Los Colchoneros have set their sights on Niclas Fullkrug and Strahinja Pavlovic, two concrete objectives for the Rossoneri.

In light of the friction created by the Morata deal, it is natural to ask: are Pavlovic and Fullkrug actual objectives for Atletico or simply a disruption ploy? Only time will tell, although we could consider it an implicit answer that the Milan management side are trying to speed up the process for both players.

This week could be the one that sees Pavlovic join. Milan have an agreement over terms with the player and while Red Bull Salzburg want €25m to sell, €20m plus bonuses might well be enough or a compromise halfway could be found.

Atletico Madrid in the meantime are continuing to monitor the other options as well as the Serbian, after their pursuit of David Hancko went cold due to Feyenoord’s high asking price.

While Milan can sleep soundly when it comes to Pavlovic, on Fullkrug they must remain attentive. Atleti are willing to offer €20m euros for the German striker, a figure that the Rossoneri have no intention of matching.
