Tuttosport: Milan and Inter want Milinkovic-Savic but Lazio set a high price

AC Milan and Inter are both keen on signing Sergej Milinkovic-Savic from Lazio this summer but it will not be easy, a report claims.

According to today’s edition of Tuttosport (via SempreMilan.it), a mercato derby between Milan and Inter to get to Milinkovic-Savic could well ignite soon, given that the midfielder seems destined to leave Lazio.

However, Lazio president Claudio Lotito has no intention of granting any discounts – especially when potentially selling to a rival – and thus does not seem willing to lower the asking price from the current €30-35m.

It is a figure judged too high by the two Milanese teams especially considering the Serbia international has a contract expiring in 12 months which will not be renewed.

Among the possible solutions that could be adopted by Milan and Inter is the idea of inserting some counterparts to try to lower the economic demands of Claudio Lotito, but no names are mentioned.

Milinkovic-Savic cannot be signed through an ‘imaginative formula’ such as a loan with option or obligation to buy because his deal only has a year left. The Rossoneri and Nerazzurri are monitoring the situation, but are also evaluating other tracks.
