Tuttosport: Milan should not retain Belgian midfielder this summer

AC Milan should not try to make their loan deal for Aster Vranckx permanent in the summer despite having the option to, according to the press.

Tuttosport (via Milan News) have reported that it would be a bad decision for the Rossoneri to pay the €12 million that is required to sign Vranckx on a permanent basis.

He has been on loan from Wolfsburg this season but has made almost no impact, with Stefano Pioli using him very sparingly in the midfield.

There were hopes that Vranckx would grow in influence for Milan during the season, as has been the case for Malick Thiaw, but it has not materialised that way and there is little clear reason to spend €12m on him.

The club will need to pursue other midfield targets during the summer and hope that they are able to take to the Milan team better than Vranckx has done, who will return to Wolfsburg and fight for his place there.
