Last week, Milan confirmed the appointment of Calvelli as the new CEO, taking over the duties from the sacked Giorgio Furlani. Gerry Cardinale said that the Rossoneri will ‘benefit tremendously’ from this decision, as Calvelli has impressed a lot during his time at RedBird.

Yesterday evening, attending a charity event, Calvelli was spotted on the red carpet in what was his first public appearance as the Milan CEO. In short, the era of Furlani is officially over and it remains to be seen how well Calvelli will do.

So far, the indications have been very positive considering how quickly Milan have moved on the mercato, paying a whopping €70m+ for Goncalo Ramos and closing in on the €25m signing of Mario Gila. Clearly, the transfer policy isn’t the same as it was when Furlani decided it all.
