Milan missed a few chances before the only goal of the game, with Rafael Leao’s volley being symbolic of the night. The Portuguese hammered an effort against the inside of the post and yet it somehow rolled across the line instead of going in.
With 10 minutes left the sucker punch came from the away side as Troilo headed in a corner that was initially ruled out for a foul. After a VAR review the goal was given, and this has generated plenty of controversy.
So, the unbeaten run comes to a close on 24 games (Parma also ended the 58-game streak in 1993 with a 1-0 win at San Siro). With Inter now 10 points clear at the top, attention turns to a battle for a Champions League spot rather than the Scudetto.
