Watch: Pulisic opens up about ‘no-brainer’ Milan move and praises the fans

Christian Pulisic is expected to play from start against Bologna on Monday and in a recent interview, the winger has opened up about his move to AC Milan. Among other things, he had loads of praise for the fans.

This pre-season, Pulisic has already bagged several assists (as well as one goal) and the fans are eager to see him in the league. Given that Samuel Chukwueze hasn’t been with the team for that long, the American should play from start on Monday.

Speaking to Men in Blazers, Pulisic opened up about his move to Milan and also praised the Rossoneri fans, among many other things. You can find an excerpt below and the full interview can be seen in the video below.

On leaving Chelsea…

“It wasn’t necessarily one moment where it hit move, just over time and how the season went, with a year left on my contract, it felt like the right time to move for my career. At the end of the day, this move felt like a no-brainer.”

Process of joining Milan…

“I spoke with the directors, I was also on a call with the coach [Pioli]. You want to get a good feel and feel like you’re wanted. Everyone at the club made me feel like that, they gave me a really good feeling before even setting foot here.”

If he called Giroud…

“I spoke to all of the ex-Chelsea players, they told me the ins and outs of the club and honestly they all spoke really highly of it. They all made it sound like it was a great opportunity for me. I trusted them and they’ve helped so much with the transition as well.”

On the support of the fans…

“It’s the best feeling, the warm welcome meant a lot to me. Running into both sets of Milan fans [Milan and Inter] you can see a difference in how people treat you, it’s such an incredible place to be and play football. When you’re wanted and you’re trusted, that’s when you play your best football.”
