Ardon Jashari is someone that could play a key role at AC Milan in his second season, at least in Ruben Amorim’s eyes.

Tuttosport recall how Igli Tare invested a lot on Jashari almost a year ago and the club remain convinced he can become a great player. However, Massimiliano Allegri never truly put the Swiss in a position to express himself in his preferred role.
Allegri himself, in a press conference, said he would have liked Jashari to play in a two-man midfield, which is precisely the position where he excelled at Club Brugge. Ruben Amorim plays with a double pivot, and on his whiteboard he has Jashari in the engine room alongside Adrien Rabiot.
Time for the ‘real Jashari’?
Essentially, Jashari would be a dynamic playmaker with the ability to move into the opposition’s penalty area. Here we are, at least in theory, looking at the heir to Luka Modric who is not expected to remain.
Jashari, in his second year at Milan, will be called upon to resume his development after a difficult first season, marked by the serious injury at the end of August 2025 when he suffered a compound fracture of his right fibula.
The post-World Cup period will be a time of rest but also of learning for the Swiss. Amorim – who is currently watching a significant number of AC Milan matches from last season – believes Jashari could become an important player due to his style of play.
What style? He wants a Milan with a higher centre of gravity, greater aggression, and an almost immediate ability to spring attacks. These are things that were rarely seen under Allegri last season, given that the next Napoli coach’s idea was to contain and counter.
In the revolving doors of the midfield (Youssouf Fofana and Ruben Loftus-Cheek can leave, with Samuele Ricci getting more space and Rabiot’s future still undecided) Jashari’s name appears to be one of the most solid.
He will arrive later than other players who will be able to start working as early as July 13th under Amorim (including Christian Comotto, who is aiming to remain with the senior squad). For now, he aims to repay Murat Yakin’s faith in North America.
The summer of 2026 could be a sliding doors moment for Jashari, the €38m man that Milan invested in last summer. Amorim believes in him, and then it will be up to the boy to deliver.
