AC Milan want to lock in the long-term future of two of their key players from the 2021-22 Scudetto win, a report claims.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan are in the process of trying to renew Rafael Leao (a difficult situation), Pierre Kalulu (practically finished) and Ismael Bennacer (dialogue continues) but not only those three. Sandro Tonali and Fikayo Tomori are also in the sights of Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara for a potential extension with a pay rise.
Last summer, Tonali reduced his salary by a third down to the current €1.2m net per season in order to facilitate his permanent arrive at Milan from Brescia, and since then his growth has been remarkable. Now, Milan are ready to reward him with a substantial pay rise, perhaps even three times what he gets now, to more than offset the cut from last year.
Tomori should join Tonali for the preseason friendly in Hungary on Saturday against Zalaegerszegi, and in the meantime the agents of the English defender are waiting for word to discuss the extension of his current deal, expiring in 2025. Tomori should go up to €3.5m per year, or almost double what he earns now, again as a reward for the excellent form he has shown since arriving.
