AC Milan-Todibo negotiations stalled: the reasons

After securing the signing of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Milan now want to focus on reinforcing the defensive department. The top name on the list is Jean-Clair Todibo from Barcelona but there has been a slowdown registered in the last couple of days after the initial optimism.

After Leo Duarte’s injury and uncertainty regarding Mattia Caldara as well as Mateo Musacchio’s inconsistency, Milan decided to focus on the French starlet.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via milanlive.it), these are important days for the deal that could bring the youngster to the San Siro, with Boban and Maldini eager to define the operation.

However, there is a problem. Barcelona do not want to lower the economic demands and above all, they do not want to eliminate a buy-back clause in their favour, which the Rossoneri absolutely do not agree with. The Blaugrana are asking for 20 million euros, while Milan stand firm at 15.

It is likely that some sales will be necessary to finance the deal, with players such as Fabio Borini or Ricardo Rodriguez on the way out of the club. If an agreement is not reached with Barcelona, Milan will focus on another track.
