Giornale: Maldini in talks to extend contracts of three key players until 2027

AC Milan are not only working on new signings to add to the quality of the current squad as they are also aiming to secure the long-term future of current stars.

According to this morning’s edition of Il Giornale (via MilanNews), the Rossoneri management are currently in negotiations for the renewals of three key players until 2027: namely Fikayo Tomori, Pierre Kalulu and Sandro Tonali.

The two centre-backs and the central midfielder were hugely influential in the Scudetto win last season and the plan is to reward them for their performances with an extended deal but also a substantial pay rise.

Of course, while there is always an emphasis in the media on the new signings that may join to raise the level of the current squad, the departures of Gianluigi Donnarumma and Franck Kessie over the last two summers also show the importance of armouring the pillars of the current project.
