Napoli are interested in hiring Massimiliano Allegri if Antonio Conte were to leave the club in the summer, Matteo Moretto has confirmed.

This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport reported that Gerry Cardinale is willing to satisfy the demands that Allegri has in order to keep him as the head coach of Milan for 2026-27 and potentially beyond.
The owner is happy with the work he has done in year one and with a Champions League return hopefully secured on Sunday, they can begin planning for the future. However there remains a lot of noise in the background about Allegri’s possible exit.
Sarri, Allegri and other moves
On Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel, Matteo Moretto revealed some important news about the potential coaching carousel in Serie A that seems to take place every summer. MilanNews transcribed his words.
“Sarri is in talks not only with Napoli but also with Atalanta, and it’s a hot topic because Atalanta, as you know, after the change in sporting direction from the sporting director’s point of view, Sarri is the first name,” he said.
“Sarri is Giuntoli’s first name, the negotiations are quite advanced. Sarri is between the possibility of returning to Napoli and Bergamo, with Atalanta, however, pushing much harder than Napoli. They seem perhaps even more convinced about the financial offer.
“Napoli, for their part, don’t just have Sarri on their list, because there are other names too, Allegri could be one, Fabio Grosso is another highly sought-after name, and there are also some outsiders.”
