Michele Criscitiello has claimed that Massimiliano Allegri is not convinced by the idea of continuing at AC Milan beyond this season.

Milan’s season has taken a rather negative turn in the past couple of months. After having a 24-game unbeaten run snapped by a defeat to Parma at San Siro, a run of four defeats in seven has followed, and the Rossoneri failed to score in all four of those losses.
Allegri decided to switch to a 4-3-3 on Saturday evening against Udinese, and the result was catastrophic. The away side – ironically using a 3-5-2 system – were devastating on the counter-attack and ran out deserved 3-0 winners in the end. Now, a top four spot is in real danger.
Allegri ‘not convinced’
Criscitiello published his weekly column for Sportitalia and he dedicated the entirety of it to Milan, who could be in line for yet another summer reset if his suspicions are to be believed.
“We need a corporate vision. Something new and different. Allegri has tried his best, but without players, it’s tough for everyone,” he said.
“He’s also to blame, as is Tare, who spent nearly €140m on half-players. However, corporate clarity is needed first and foremost , and you can’t continue with a two-faced ownership structure. If Furlani is in charge, it’s one thing; if Cardinale is in charge, it’s another. There’s too much confusion about roles and hierarchies.
“The clubs that work best are the lean ones. At Casa Milan, there are too many floors and too many offices. The chain of command is complex and rusty. The fact is that such an important club can’t continue for long. It needs football men.
“It’s sad to say, but Furlani and Cardinale are men of numbers and high finance. Milan’s mistakes this year have been numerous, and the sudden collapse, combined with the missed opportunities, cannot be justified by a simple ‘we couldn’t fight for the Scudetto’.
“You only had one competition, and you’re Milan. Of course you have to fight for the Scudetto. Your history and your glory dictate it. Too many players shouldn’t even be in this team at Milanello. Mediocre or finished.
“Enough with Leao, who is a constant losing bet. Congratulations to Modric for the champion he has been, but next year we need fresh talent. As we warned you a month ago, Allegri isn’t convinced he can continue without clarity and planning.
“The truth is that even at the club and the fans would gladly replace him. Reheated soup often tastes bland.”
