Massimiliano Allegri will be the new Napoli coach, despite all of the talk about a slowdown due to his severance pay situation with AC Milan.

As Tuttosport (via MilanNews) report, Allegri immediately reached a new agreement just days after being fired by Milan – along with the entire management – on Monday. The coach will sign a two-year contract with Napoli.
He will therefore replace Antonio Conte and will try to bring Napoli back to competing in the Champions League and fighting for the Scudetto. He is a coach that Aurelio De Laurentiis has always wanted to work with, and now it will move from fantasy to reality.
Before Napoli and Allegri can sign the contract, there’s still a significant formal step to take. The Livorno-born coach still has a current contract with the club, which runs until 2027.
Therefore, negotiations are underway between Max and the Milan owners to reach an agreement regarding the termination of his contract and the severance pay that the former Juventus boss will be oeed.
As Tuttosport reported this morning, discussions are progressing, albeit with some delays. However, these delays won’t jeopardise the agreement and Allegri will sign with Napoli. It will also help the Rossoneri save some money, too, so it is in everyone’s best interests.
