A wing-back is an emerging area where Milan want/need depth. Alexis Saelemaekers is likely to be the starter on the right and Samuel Chukwueze seems to be an alternative option.
However, the Rossoneri are not done there and are considering other options. They do not have the budget for someone like a Guela Doue, though, so new options are being looked into.
Deal for El Ouahdi on
According to MilanVibes, the recent reports about El Ouahdi are true. There is a ‘genuine interest’ in the wing-back and Genk do not consider him unsellable, so things can certainly be worked out.
Of course, Zachary Athekame’s loan must be confirmed before then, as well as other squad-trimming measures. In the meantime, assessments will be made about the Moroccan, who could even be seen as an alternative signing to Dario Osorio.
It is a time for analysis and assessments and Ruben Amorim must make some decisions. Indeed, the biggest could be the style of wing-back that he wants: someone who is more of a full-back or a more versatile attacking player. A tough one, certainly.
