As Calciomercato.com report, Fofana has had some positive moments this season, but also some significant setbacks. His late-game slip-up against Lazio, as well as his missed tap-in during Milan-Genoa have seen the Frenchman in and out of the side.
Massimiliano Allegri played the role of ‘psychologist’, trying to manage the Frenchman’s state of mind, choosing to sit out a few matches to let things cool down before reinstating him from minute one. His performance against Cremonese was positive, and he should have had two assists.
The André factor
Giorgio Furlani and Geoffrey Moncada have reached an agreement with the agents of André, a talented Brazilian midfielder who is 19 years of age and have documents signed by the Corinthians board of directors.
The deal is worth approximately €15m in fixed terms, plus €2m in bonuses and a 20% resale clause. All that is missing is for the president of the Brazilian club Omar Stabile to sign off on it, but he is standing firm and wants €25m.
If the green light were to arrive for Andre, the Fofana issue could reopen and it ‘wouldn’t make Allegri jump for joy’. The coach likes the former Monaco man and wasn’t promptly notified of the purchase of a player who is young and inexperienced for such a level.
Fofana’s plan is to stay at Milan, and only if he receives a truly advantageous offer from a club of the same calibre could he question this position. Galatasaray are still keen having made a winter approach, but he isn’t open to it, at least for now.
Youssouf also has a strong Premier League market: several clubs have made in-depth inquiries, but haven’t made a move due to the player’s hesitation. In order to sell, the asking price is ‘certainly no less than €30m’.
