According to Fichajes, Mikel Arteta is ‘in love’ with Reijnders. His performances for Milan and for the Netherlands national team have not gone unnoticed, attracting the attention of elite teams, and Arsenal are planning a move next summer.
The former AZ Alkmaar man ‘stands out for his vision, precise passing and ability to create danger in the attacking half’ as per the report. The Gunners are looking for a creative midfielder, given that the absence of Martin Odegaard perhaps showed a lack of depth in that respect.
They believe he ‘fits perfectly into Arteta’s philosophy’ and they could well ‘invest heavily’ in a player like Reijnders, having done so in previous windows on other players they are convinced by, like Declan Rice.
“Everything indicates that the Gunners will be willing to make a significant financial effort to secure his arrival,” the source adds. However, Milan would only consider parting with him if ‘astronomical offers’ arrive, given his importance to the team and the project moving forward.
Despite the links with top clubs, it is worth noting that several reliable outlets are reporting that renewal talks between Milan and Reijnders are underway.
