MN: Atalanta may block January move to Milan for Sportiello

Atalanta may not allow AC Milan to sign Marco Sportiello in January as they will struggle to find a replacement goalkeeper in time, a report claims.

As has been reported by Milan News, the Nerazzurri are resigned to the fact that Sportiello will be leaving on a free transfer in the summer and it is known that Milan have blocked the goalkeeper.

Due to the continued injury woes of Mike Maignan, the Rossoneri are exploring the option of signing Sportiello in January instead of the summer.

This is not an attractive proposition for Atalanta as they do not know of a replacement goalkeeper they would like to sign, and they do not want to cut Marco Carnesecchi’s loan spell at Cremonese short.

He has put in some impressive performances for the Grigiorossi and it won’t benefit him to return and be Juan Musso’s deputy.

It is a situation that could easily change in the near future.
