Scalvini’s mature performances and his qualities have attracted the attention of scouts from the top Italian and European clubs for a year now. Juventus, Inter, Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid have all been linked.
Calciomercato.com recently reported that the two Serie A sides that have expressed most interest are Inter and Juve but they have budgetary problems. Milan, Napoli and Roma are watching carefully but would only make a move in the event of a sale.
Scalvini was interviewed by TMW and as part of it he was asked if it was true that Thiago Silva has been his idol since he was a child, which he confirmed but also picked out a current Nerazzurri defender as a role model.
“I always liked him when I was little, I watched Serie A and he was at Milan. I really like how he is on the pitch, he’s a leader with great spirit and charisma,” he said.
“But I also followed Bastoni a lot, having been here at Atalanta. In the youth sector, many used him as an example to follow. Sometimes I stopped to look at him when he was playing in the Primavera.”
