David Ornstein’s piece for The Athletic writes that Chelsea have seen a £60m (€70m) offer for Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo rejected, which has forced them to scour the market for alternatives.

The report mentions that Chelsea are still keen on Caicedo but they intend to be ‘disciplined’ in the pursuit, meaning they will not go over the top in relation to what they consider to be fair value for the 21-year-old.

That is why the Blues are ‘studying multiple alternatives to Caicedo’ including Southampton’s Romeo Lavia, Borussia Monchengladbach’s Manu Kone, Milan’s Sandro Tonali, and Inter’s Nicolo Barella.

It must be noted that any attempt to sign Tonali would likely be a difficult one given that he is a boyhood Milan fan and is a huge part of the Rossoneri’s plans for the future.
