CorSport: Chelsea loanee vanishes off radar as Milan want to avoid triggering €15m deal

AC Milan do not currently have any intention of making Tiemoue Bakayoko’s loan deal a permanent move, according to a report.

Bakayoko rejoined Milan back in August, and Fabrizio Romano claimed that the operation is a two-year loan with an option to buy set at €15m. He also extended contract with the Blues until June 2024 to facilitate the deal, given that his previous contract was set to expire in June 2022.

According to il Corriere dello Sport (via Calciomercato.com), Stefano Pioli does not have great faith in Bakayoko as the French midfielder has ended up on the sidelines. The paper also adds that his loan with option becomes an obligation after a certain number of appearances.

After the returns of Ismael Bennacer and Franck Kessie from the Africa Cup, Bakayoko has disappeared from the Rossoneri’s radar entirely as the former Monaco man not taken the field since the home defeat against Spezia on 17 January, meaning he has gone 5 consecutive matches without getting a minute.
