It will still be a while before we see Ismael Bennacer back in competitive action for AC Milan but his recovery progress appears to be going as planned.

After going 2-0 down within 11 minutes against their city rivals Inter in the Champions League last season, things went from bad to worse for Pioli’s side as Bennacer was then forced to come off with what looked like a knock.
Then, Milan announced that Bennacer underwent surgery on his right knee in Lyon to repair a cartilage lesion which is a rare but serious issue.
His recovery time was estimated at six months, meaning he could be back in December but he certainly will not be rushed. Meanwhile, the African Cup of Nations is on the agenda early in 2024 so he will have an eye on that too.
Bennacer posted some photos of his training which consists of weight and resistance work to build strength, with the comment: “Give everything to come back stronger.”
