Biglia jumps to Romagnoli’s defence: “Juventus or Man City would sign him without thinking twice”

Former Milan midfielder Lucas Biglia believes Manchester City and Juventus would sign Alessio Romagnoli without hesitation.

Romagnoli joined the Rossoneri in the summer of 2015, having signed from Roma for €25million. Even though he has been a pillar of the Milan rearguard for six seasons now, and the club captain for three, he has not enjoyed the best form this season so far.

The player has been heavily criticised by fans and by the media for his display against Inter in the derby in which he looked to be suffering from a lack of confidence, allowing Lautaro and Romelu Lukaku to have a field day, but he has since responded with a couple of impressive outings against Udinese and Hellas Verona.

Biglia spoke to La Gazzetta dello Sport about his exit from Milan and also passed comment on one of his former team-mates in Romagnoli, jumping to the defence of the captain.

“I would never let him go. Tomori is a good defender, but he is the captain,” Biglia told La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Football Italia).

“He would have no problems in finding a new team. Top clubs like Juventus or Manchester City would sign him without thinking twice.”
