Bologna boss Vincenzo Italiano admitted he will speak with the management about the plans for the future, amid links with AC Milan.

There have been yet more reports in the Italian media this morning suggesting that Milan could be set for an overhaul at management level regardless of whether they obtain a spot in the Champions League for 2026-27 or not.
Last summer the project was entrusted to Igli Tare and Massimiliano Allegri, but the hottest profiles for weeks were Italiano and the Atalanta director Tony D’Amico. Now, the talk is that CEO Giorgio Furlani – whose own future is uncertain – could turn back to the duo if Tare and Allegri go.
Italiano spoke in an interview on Rai 2’s Dribbling program and he was asked about his journey to this point as well as the talk that a future move to Milan could be on the cards. Calciomercato.com have relayed his words.
“I always joke that when I took over as Bologna coach, some people thought I was crazy. After the Champions League, after what Thiago Motta had built, it would have been difficult to replicate,” he said.
“Instead, I found a top club, a top-level team. And in the league, we had a great run, bringing home a trophy that had been missing for fifty years, with 30,000 Bolognese fans at the Olimpico and lots of people cheering us on the open-top bus. It was thrilling.
“My future? At this point in the season, there’s always a flurry of names being thrown around among coaches and players. I’m very focused on the pitch because we still have some goals to achieve. I’m at a club where things work really well. I’ll meet with the management and we’ll see what we can do.”
