Martina Maccari – the wife of Leonardo Bonucci – has discussed the experience that her husband had during his brief one year spell at AC Milan.
Bonucci’s Milan spell does not represent a great memory for many Rossoneri fans. Marco Fassone and Massimiliano Mirabelli paid a big amount in terms of transfer fee and salary to sign him from Juventus under Yonghong Li’s ownership in summer 2017.
The Rossoneri even made him the captain, convinced by his experience of winning with Juve and his status in the national team, but the defender never repaid expectations, so much so that he left the following summer and returned to Juventus.
His wife Martina Maccari spoke about Bonucci’s short and unsuccessful passage to Milan during an interview with Tuttosport and revealed that Leo does
“Leo does not regret the year at Milan, it was a moment of growth as a man. But his return to Juve was like a homecoming. I did not interfere in his choices and I have always supported him, but even now he tells me that I should have made him think,” she said (via SempreMilan.it).
