GdS: Brahim Diaz paying the price for his poor form – Milan’s plan may now change

Brahim Diaz has found himself in a peculiar position at AC Milan as he is now paying the price for poor form, according to a report.

La Gazzetta dello Sport recalls how Stefano Pioli seems more inclined to field Tonali, Bennacer and Kessie in the same starting line-up at the moment, which means there seems to be no place for Brahim Diaz.

He has gone in a few months from the position of being essential and one of the first names on the team sheet, to the one whose absence is no longer noticeable. Of course, the management of a football team is uncompromising, especially when there are two trophies that the Rossoneri are still in contention for.

The Spaniard has struggled to find the top level again since coming back from Covid and he has paid for it with his starting spot. Krunic was preferred to him in the Coppa Italia derby, while Kessie was used in the Napoli league game, meaning he has already been left out of two big games in March.

Brahim returned from Real Madrid on a two-year loan and that gives him time to be able to get his form back, but he is without a goal since September 25 and without an assist since December 4.

At the end of the season Milan and Real will meet to talk about Brahim in what could have been a good opportunity to attempt an early permanent signing, but it now risks becoming an interlocutory meeting.

The option is fixed at €22m, but Real have a buy-back at €27m, and if he does not recover some form between now and June then the assessments of all parties may change.
