AC Milan Primavera head coach Ignazio Abate decided to try Chaka Traore in a new position during Tuesday’s UEFA Youth League win against Paris Saint-Germain.

Abate’s men started the game in the best way possible as Nsiala scored from a corner, then Francesco Camarda scored an acrobatic effort to make it 2-0. PSG came back to 2-2, before substitute Diego Sia was the hero in the 94th minute.
One of the interesting tactical points from the game was the decision to utilise Chaka Traore – who is back with the Primavera after spending preseason with the senior team – as a box-to-box midfielder.
Like the first team, the youth side have had injury problems recently with Victor Eletu, Dariusz Stalmach and Kevin Zeroli all out, who would usually start in midfield.
Traore has made a name for himself as a left winger but Abate took Zeroli’s role for this game, demonstrating some great playmaking in the build-up phase and working hard in the defensive phase too.
