CM: Chelsea striker set to sign €8m contract as Milan make decisive acceleration

AC Milan are expected to be able to confirm the signing of striker Olivier Giroud as developments have arrived, according to a report.

Calciomercato.com writes how yesterday was the start of the acceleration for Milan to be able to land the France international, while on Thursday the decisive sprint has arrived and the Giroud affair is now closing. Only the last details to be defined are missing, but new contacts in the past few hours have been very positive and have pushed the operation towards completion.

The dialogue between Milan and Chelsea has been decisive, and while Giroud will not leave London on a free transfer the two clubs are finalising a compensation figure that will be very low. It is the last detail to be resolved before the signing of a two-year contract worth €4m net per season, and then Pioli can welcome a reinforcement for the centre-forward department.
