CM: Fiorentina set to beat Milan to signing of striker – €10m offer tabled

Over the last few months, AC Milan have been linked with several strikers as Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Olivier Giroud aren’t getting younger. Most of them have been very young, including Agustin Alvarez.

The Penarol striker, aged 20, scored 23 goals for the Uruguayan side in all comps last season, which ended in December. It’s not hard to understand why he has attracted the interest of several big clubs, in other words.

According to Calciomercato.com, Milan have followed him with great interest in the past and had a meeting with Alvarez’s agent a few weeks ago. However, it appears that Fiorentina are one step away from securing the striker.

They have been in talks with the agent since December and a five-year contract has now been agreed on. La Viola have tabled a €10m offer (plus bonuses) for Penarol and he would also remain at the club until the end of the Serie A season. The deal could even be closed this weekend, per the report.
