CM: Florenzi leads by example in preseason – what filters regarding his Milan future

Alessandro Florenzi scored the first goal of AC Milan’s summer preseason friendly campaign, but there continues to be lingering doubts about his future at the club.

Calciomercato.com write that Florenzi’s goal was not a surprise and not just because he played a midfield role. Those who have seen him in recent days at Milanello speak of a concentrated player who was on the ball from day one and in excellent physical condition.

Florenzi is an experienced, mature player who knows how to be an example for his younger teammates, and the disagreements he had with Paulo Fonseca at Roma are a thing of the past given they happened a few years ago now.

The Italian’s mind is fully on Milan and on the ambition of being able to carve out a spot for himself and being useful to the cause. What emerged from the last couple of weeks and from Saturday’s friendly only helps his case.

Contrary to some reports, Florenzi has not received any communication from the management that he is in the shop window. Translation: Geoffrey Moncada believes he can be sold under certain conditions, but he is far from the status of Divock Origi or Fode Ballo-Toure, for example.

For Florenzi, the most important thing is his €3m net per season salary and his contract expiring in 2025. If offers arrive, they will be taken into consideration by the former PSG man and his agent, but there will be no rush from any party.
