Vitiello: Florenzi to leave amid inquiries from Como, Valencia and Arab clubs

By Isak Möller -

Alessandro Florenzi scored the first goal of AC Milan’s pre-season yesterday and looked quite good overall. However, the veteran remains on the exit list and several clubs have enquired about his situation, a report claims.

Florenzi joined the Rossoneri ahead of the Scudetto season, more specifically in the summer of 2021, and the move was made permanent in 2022. Since then, he has remained a backup even if he registered the most minutes last season (2140).

Previous rumours have suggested that the relationship between Florenzi and head coach Paulo Fonseca is far from brilliant, dating back to their Roma days. As such, an exit has been on the cards since the manager joined and that hasn’t changed, according to Antonio Vitiello.

Como, Valencia and some Arab clubs have enquired about the versatile Italian’s situation and could perhaps make a concrete move in the coming weeks. With a contract that expires in 2025, Florenzi’s departure will not fetch a huge amount of cash but there could be a small fee still.

Of course, Milan could milk more out of a potential move to an Arab club but it’s not certain that the 33-year-old would accept such a transfer. The coming weeks will provide us with more updates as, for now, the player is still focused on pre-season with the Rossoneri.
