CM: ‘A new Samu’ – good feeling blossoms between Chukwueze and Fonseca

Among the players who stood out for AC Milan against Manchester City on Saturday night was Samuel Chukwueze as he got two assists to his name, and the feeling is that he could undergo a real resurgence under Paulo Fonseca.

As Calciomercato.com recall, the 65 minutes that Chukwueze got against City in New York certainly left an impression. His assists for Lorenzo Colombo ‘reveal a feeling that immediately blossomed with the Portuguese coach’ and pave the way for a season in which the winger hopes to change gear.

They were two perfect assists and two almost carbon copy plays with which the Nigerian gave Colombo the chance to beat Ederson from close range, which he took, but Chukwueze’s general performance also suggests he is getting to grips with what Fonseca wants.

The former Villarreal man’s dedication to the cause was confirmed by his optimistic words after the game: “I like the new coach, he gave me an opportunity straight away, it’s important when someone trusts you. The fans will see a new Samu this year.”

Chukwueze’s role this season will be something that is interesting to follow and it also partly depends on the positions that Christian Pulisic is used in. Fonseca did not hide that he also sees the American as a playmaker, meaning it could be a Chukwueze-Pulisic-Leao trident behind Milan.
