The biggest home game of AC Milan’s Champions League ‘league phase’ campaign, at least on paper, is Liverpool at home. Despite this, the club are having issues selling all of the tickets.
As Calciomercato.com write, Milan are preparing to experience another big Champions League night with tomorrow’s match at San Siro against Liverpool fast approaching, which opens the Rossoneri’s 2024-25 European campaign.
Despite the fact that Zlatan Ibrahimovic said in a press conference that the management ‘have probably built a team that is more European than ready for the Italian league’, this has not yet convinced the Milan fans to respond by buying tickets for the match with the Reds.
The difficult start to the season slowed down the desire to spend and invest significant amounts for this match. A different story in fact took place for the match against Venezia which ended with a sell-out and a 4-0 victory that restored some confidence.
Ticket sales for Liverpool in fact started again in a big way after Saturday night, but there is still a large part of the stadium available. In fact, only 55,000 tickets have already been sold and with a capacity of over 75,000 seats, there are more than 20,000 tickets still available.
Milan have chosen to keep tickets on sale until the day of the match and hope that many are tempted by the chance to able to secure a ticket for the Champions League debut. The free sale phase started on Friday 6 September and will end immediately before the match.
